Abstract: The present text aims to present and reflect on psychological care provided in the context of a pediatric obesity clinic. It is organized around two transferential narratives, which address the life history of a mother with an obese child in treatment, as well as an individual interview during which the Thematic Drawing-and-Story Procedure [D-E (T)] was used. The psychoanalytic consideration of this material enabled the interpretative production of two affective-emotional meaning fields, from which a clinical-reflective work highlights the importance of understanding the meaning of the maternal experience to guide psychological interventions that may benefit both mother and child.
