Abstract: From a psychoanalytic perspective that views emotional maturation as intrinsically linked to the lived environment, we investigated the collective imaginary of teachers regarding the contemporary adolescent. We conducted a group interview to explore the collective personality, utilizing the Thematic Drawing-and-Story Procedure [D-E (T)], which was recorded through the development of a transferential narrative. The material was analyzed using the psychoanalytic method to produce affective-emotional or unconscious relational meaning fields. We arrived at the interpretation of three fields: “Useless! We are useless”, “What are you hungry for?” and “On the path of good”. The overall picture indicates that adolescents are predominantly perceived in the teachers’ imaginary in a negative, devalued, and pessimistic manner.
