Doctoral Thesis as – Instituto de Psicologia da USP. São Paulo (SP), 1998.Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present a new modality of psychotherapeutic treatment among children and their families. This technique is based on use of Drawing-and-Story Procedure in children’s therapeutic consultations. This technique is an adaptation of Drawing-and-Story Procedure proposed by Trinca (1972). The theoretical basis was provided by Winnicott, above all the concepts of potential scope. His notion was applied, of potential scope as a space and a time that allows us to get not only the group or individual internal reality, as well the internal one, by means of creativity. Concepts as therapeutic consultations, transitional objects and phenomena and Squiggle Game were retaken and guided this technique. A reflection on the role of the professional as an analyst and as a researcher was made. This technique facilitates a therapeutic alliance between the child and his parents, by means of verbal and emotional subjective expression. It was useful to diagnose investigation and formulation rather than communication and psychic construction. This paper is the result of twelve years of clinical practice. Four clinical cases are presented, in order to argue it.
