Abstract: Given  that  there  is  an  overvaluation  of  youth  culture  in  our  society  today,  a  pregnancy  at  this  stage  of discovery  can  be  somewhat  impactful  on  the  lives  of  adolescents.  This  article  aims  to  understand  the experience,  expectations  and  anxieties  of  adolescents  during  their  gestation  period.   Three adolescents, aged between 16 and 17, who were in the waiting room of the high-risk pregnancy sector at the Regional Hospital of Assis participated in the research, however, for the purpose of this article, considerations will be made about one of the pregnant women.  The research  instruments  used  were  a  semi-structured  interview  and  the  application  of The Thematic Drawing-and-Story Procedure.  The  methodology  used  was  based  on  qualitative  research  with  case  study  design. Three thematic categories of content analysis were listed: the discovery of pregnancy and the repercussion of  the  news  for  the  adolescent,  the  child’s  father  and  the  family  members;  the  positive  and  negative impacts  of  pregnancy  on  the  adolescent’s  life  and  the  context  in  which  she  lives  and;  and the adolescent’s expectations  regarding  the  present  and  future. The data  obtained  with  the  application  of  the  techniques indicated that the young woman was not expecting pregnancy at the moment, as well as that although the participant still seems not to be aware of the possible difficulties she will have after the child’s birth, family support  is  very  important  in  relation  to  acceptance  of  the  new  condition  of  mother  and  the  structure offered for the reception of the child.
