The present research aims to verify an approach in the experience of illness in hospitalized children. The relevance of this work is contained in the importance of building new humanization experiences at the hospital network, so as to alleviate the anguish experienced by the child during hospitalization. In order to study the subject, a work is done on case studies, based on the Analytic Psychology developed by C.G. Jung. The participants are three hospitalized children (Ana Clara, Lucas and Sophia, fictitious names) with respiratory diseases. The instruments utilized are: a) semi-directed interviews with parents or caregivers and with the child himself, b) telling the story “The Chilly Daisy”, and c) application of Drawing-and-Story Procedure (D-E) of Walter Trinca. The collection of material is made in the time period of hospitalization of the indicated children, in a city hospital of a medium-sized city. The survey was able to gather elements for understanding the disease process of each child, with effects experienced by the family, by means of symbolic dimensions and archetypal manifestations extracted from the story told.
